“Aamhi Punekar” is a Social Organisation from Pune constituted by renowned social activists including Doctors, Media Personalities, Social Entrepreneurs, Freelancers and professionals. The organization has carried out various meaningful and social activities.

In 2023, Aamhi Punekar has installed a statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Maratha Light Infantry Regiment at Kupwara District on Indo Pak border.

Edogawa India Culture Centre is established to spread right information on Indian culture, history, religion and arts and All Japan Association of Indians (AJAI) - An association formed to offer organized and structured information, support and welfare to the Indians living in Japan.

Event Overview

Aamhi Punekar, Sedor International , All Japan Association of Indians (AJAI) and The Edogawa India Culture Centre in Tokyo, Japan come together to celebrate the installation and unveiling of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Edogawa India Culture Centre in Tokyo.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a legendary Indian ruler played a pivotal role in shaping India's history. His bravery, strategic thinking, and leadership skills made him a revered figure, and his legacy continues to inspire Indians to this day.

A grand Indo Japan Shiv Swaraj Rath Yatra is being organized from 16th January to 17th February 2025.This Yatra will start at Satara and culminate at Pune covering more than 7000 kms across nine states and two Union Territories.

The statue is hand crafted by Pune-based artisans Vipul and Viraj, sons of Vivek Khatavkar. As part of the event the Bharat Itihaas Sanshohak Mandal and The Bhandarkar Oriental research Institute handed over true copies of letters and paintings dating between 1620 and 1840 to be displayed in Tokyo at the Edogawa India Culture Center.

(Route brief: Satara- Kolhapur-Malvan- Goa- Belgaum-Hubli- Bangalore-Hyderabad-Nanded- Amravati- Nagpur- Bhopal- Gwalior-Lucknow- Agra-Kurukshetra-Panipat-New Delhi-Jaipur- Ajmer-Udaipur- Bhilwara- Ahmedabad-Vadodara-Surat- Navi Mumbai - Mumbai-Pune)

Cultural performances showcasing the Maratha heritage at Pune, Banglore,Nagpur, Mumbai, New Delhi

To mark this auspicious day of 351st anniversary of Shiv Rajyabhishek 351 women will perform aukshan of the statue at each location Satara, Kolhapur, Malvan, Banglore, Gwalior,New Delhi and Mumbai.

Keynote addresses by renowned historians and scholars and leaders at every location.

Roadshows at Pune, Bangalore, New Delhi, Nagpur and Mumbai

Dhol Tasha Pathaks, Horses, and Lezhim pathak at each location

Reception and celebration of the Indo Japan Shiv Swaraj Rath Yatra at various Raj Bhavans (Panjim, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Lucknow, Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Mumbai) and Palaces (Satata, Kolhapur, Belgaum, Gwalior and Sindhudurg Fort

200 Bikers will join the Yatra in Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi.

The Shiv Swaraj Rath Yatra will culminate at Tokyo. Unveiling ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue at Edogawa Cultural Centre, Tokyo.

Event Highlights Japan

8th March 2025

Mr.Yogendra Puranik, an Indian born Japanese politician and first person of Indian origin to win an election in Japan. He is also the President of All Japan Association of Indians and Edogawa India Culture Centre.With his initiative a real life size statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be installed in the heart of Tokyo, Japan on 8th March 2025.

This is indeed a historic event as, it is the first time that such a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be installed and unveiled at a location in foreign land.

Hon. Ministers, leading politicians, social leaders, members from Royal families from India and Japan will attend the unveiling of the statue at Tokyo on 8th March 2025.

Sedor Global Impactmakers Awards ( SGI Awards ) - 25 distinguished individuals from India and Japan will receive awards at the Event

Over 700 people from Indian Community in Japan and Japanese Community will attend the ceremony in Tokyo

Over 100 Indian business and entrepreneurs from India will also join the celebration and Cultural and Networking Events on 8th March 2025.

About 100 enthusiasts will travel to Japan from India to witness this historic moment.
